Local Elections & Ocean Rewilding
National news
Elections | Yesterday was ‘Super Thursday’, with local elections taking place across the country. For a big political event, there was very little coverage of the environment. WalesOnline had some of the most in-depth coverage, featuring analysis of the parties’ manifestos for the Welsh parliamentary elections by Mat Hope of DeSmog. The BBC had an article about environmental charities demanding action to halt “mass extinction” in Wales ahead of the election. The Bristol Cable also had a neat interactive piece showing parties’ proposed policies for the area, including on issues like climate change and green space. The Big Issue quizzed parties in Scotland about the environment. The BBC also had a piece which briefly touched upon climate change in the Scottish elections. The results will start to come in today.
